The main selling-point for this magnesium supplement is the inclusion of magnesium threonate, a synthetic magnesium compound which is great for brain health for both women and men. As a patented form, it’s harder to find in supplements. There’s also some well-absorbed magnesium bisglycinate providing a third of the magnesium in this supplement. It's vegan-friendly, making it suitable for plant-based diets which are particularly popular among younger women.

However, as a magnesium supplement for women it falls short in a few areas. Whilst “marine magnesium” - which makes up 44% of the magnesium in these capsules - may sound appealing on the label, it’s really just
poorly absorbed magnesium oxide, which is inferior to “chelated” forms. The inclusion of a filler (bamboo extract) in a supplement that’s already naturally bulky, and the absence of added nutrients to support absorption, are additional drawbacks to consider.
