The main selling-point for this magnesium supplement is the inclusion of magnesium threonate, a synthetic magnesium compound which is great for brain health. As a patented form, it’s harder to find in supplements. There’s also some well-absorbed magnesium bisglycinate providing a third of the magnesium in this supplement. It's vegan-friendly, making it suitable for plant-based diets.
However, it falls short in a few areas. Whilst “marine magnesium” which makes up 44% of the magnesium in these capsules may sound great on the label, it’s really just inorganic magnesium oxide, which is far less absorbed than “chelated” forms. The inclusion of bamboo extract as a filler and the absence of added nutrients to support absorption are additional drawbacks to consider.
